Anemia

Millions of people suffer from anemia. Anemia is a decrease in your blood cell count, and/or decreased hemoglobin content in the blood. Since red blood cells are the ones responsible, for carrying oxygen to the cells via the hemoglobin, a lower amount means low oxygen in body’s tissues. Anemia can be caused by blood loss, which means that enough red cells are not being produced, or that too many red cells are being killed off. As a result, the body has less energy available to perform their normal functions. Important processes, such as muscular activity and cell building and repair, slow down and become less efficient. When the brain lacks oxygen, dizziness may result, and mental faculties are less sharp.
The main and the foremost utility of hemoglobin in body are to carry oxygen from lungs and then supply it to the various tissues of the body. Formation of the hemoglobin very much depends on the amount of proper and nutritive diet intake. There may also be some pathological conditions which also effects the hemoglobin formation. Normal values of hemoglobin vary from 13 to 16 mg/dl in adult male and 11 to 15 mg/dl in normal adult female.

Anemia’s symptoms can easily go unrecognized. The first signs of developing anemia may be loss of appetite, constipation, headaches, irritability, and/or difficulty in concentrating. Established anemia can produce such as symptoms as weakness, fatigue, coldness of the extremities, depression, dizziness, overall pallor, pale and brittle nails, pale lips and eyelids, soreness in the mouth, and in women-cessation of menstruation. Anemia has also been linked to a loss of libido.
Anemia is not a disease, but rather a symptom of variation diseases. Usually, anemia is due to iron deficiency, but also can be caused by not having enough Vitamin B12; B6; Folic acid; and/or copper in system.
