Slimokan Cellulite is a type of skin disorder. It can be explained as a lumpy substance (resembling cottage cheese) that emerges on various parts of the body like stomach, hips and the thighs. It is actually a collection of fat that push the connective tissue below the skin and form a lump.

The female hormones Progesterone and Estrogen are the main causes of Cellulite. The Estrogen hormone promotes the formation and expansion of fat cells around the buttocks, thighs and breasts while Progesterone leads to the development of weak veins, fluid retention, and weight gain.
Other factors influence like Genes, gender, smoking, stress, pregnancy, the amount of fat on body, age, lack of exercise and the thickness of skin are all associated with the amount of cellulite you have or how visible it is.
It is visually characterized by bulging, pitted, wrinkled, and dimpled skin on the abdomen, buttocks, hips, and thighs which occur due to fatty deposits that are concentrated in these areas. Symptoms of cellulite include a feeling of sagging, tenderness, or tightness in the affected areas, particularly while standing.

HOME REMEDIES

Massaging the affected region with coconut oil proves to be very useful in treating cellulite.
Cyperus rotundus (nagarmotha), a herb is well known for dissolving fat by local application.
Mix 3 parts apple cider vinegar with one part of massage oil. Gently knead this solution onto affected skin areas twice daily. This massage treatment will help to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Ground nut (Apios Americana) provides great energy in the body, but it is also known for its immense properties for enhancing the skin texture. It is also used as anti-wrinkle agent and it wipes out stretch marks or any other scars on the area of application.
Piper nigram (kali marica) has light and penetrating properties and possesses hot potency that helps in dissolving fat. It penetrates deep into the skin and is due to its scrapping power.
Fruits and vegetables such as asparagus, avocados, bananas, broccoli, and pears are all excellent foods that prevent the development of cellulite. Therefore try to eat at least 5 servings of such foods daily.
Take caffeinated coffee, grind it into dust and mix with cheap hand lotion, rub this into your cellulite affected region for 1-2 minute a day, and then shower it off.
Myrica cerifera (bayberry) herb has an astringent property that has a fat dissolving function. It increases blood circulation on local application on body part.
Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into an 8 ounce glass of water. Optionally add a small amount of honey as a sweetener. Drink this once each morning.
There are several essential oils such as lavender, cedarwood, juniper, patchouli, rosemary, sandalwood, germanium, cinnamon, chamomile and clove that can be freely and effectively used for massaging the areas affected by cellulite.
Reduce the amount of salt and foods high in saturated and hydrogenated fats from your diet.
Ice cold things are not good for cellulite so always drink or eat cold things at room temperature rather than ice cold.
Drinking 3 glasses a day of freshly squeezed lemons in 1 cup water and a pinch of cayenne will also melt away the cellulite.
Mix dried thyme and little amount of grapefruit juice in the corn oil & apply this combination on the buttocks, hips and thighs. At last, set a heating pad on the complete region for a few minutes. This mixture works very fast on the cellulite affected region.
Wheat germ oil or Tricticum vulgare is the biological name for wheat. It is rich in Vitamin E or tocoferol that is a fat-soluble vitamin. It helps in providing moisture to the skin; it keeps collagen in normal state therefore loosening of skin is checked. It also works as anti-oxidant thus provides freshness to skin.
Ocimum sanctum (tulasi) also burns fat on the applied area. It possesses anti-inflammatory properties. Its application causes sweating that helps in raising the metabolic rate of that area thus helps in dissolving fat.
Create a mixture of Rosemary and fennel oils. Rub this mixture on cellulite affected region daily.
Use body brush for dry skin when bathing. It increases blood circulations and helps in preventing cellulite.
A low fat balanced diet plays an important role in getting rid of cellulite. Eat plenty of fiber and wholegrain foods (such as bran and oat cereals) since they help to remove waste and toxins from the intestinal tract.

Get out and about at the weekend. Leave your car on the drive and walk to the shops. Try to incorporate longer walks into outings to the park, coast or countryside and take a picnic so you are in control of what you are going to eat that day.

Every extra step you take helps. Always use the stairs instead of the lift, or get off the bus a stop before the usual one and walk the rest of the way.

Use commercial breaks between TV-programmes to stand up and do exercise, or consider using an exercise bicycle in the living room while watching your favourite programme.

Reduce your calorie intake
If you are overweight, you can't continue with your current eating habits.

It's not possible to reduce body fat while eating lots of food, cakes and sweets. This doesn't mean you can never have any treats, but you need to learn how to limit these foods to small quantities - say, for special occasions.

In terms of weight-loss, you can get your body to use up existing stores of fat by eating less and making healthier choices.

This doesn't mean crash diet (anything less than 1500 calories), which usually ends up with you either getting weaker or giving up in desperation. Quick-fix diets can lead to a yo-yoing effect of drastic weight loss followed by weight gain, resulting in a vicious cycle.

There are no shortcuts to losing weight in a healthy and reasonable way.

Eating 300 to 500 calories less per day should lead to a loss of between one and two pounds per week. This is a realistic target. It may seem slow, but would add up to a weight loss of more than three stone in a year.

Fat contains the most amount of calories out of all the food types (protein, carbohydrates), so a good way to achieve this is to cut down on fatty foods and eat more wholegrain bread, fruit and vegetables.

Below are ways to reduce calorie intake without having to alter your diet significantly.

  • Replace fizzy drinks and fruit cordials with water.

  • Swap whole milk for semi-skimmed, or semi-skimmed for skimmed.

  • Eat less lunch than usual. For example, make your own sandwich and limit the use of margarine/butter and full-fat mayonnaise (store-bought sandwiches often contain both).

  • Stop taking sugar in tea and coffee.

  • Have smaller portions of the food you enjoy.

  • Avoid having a second helping at dinner.

  • Cut out unhealthy treats such as confectionary, sugary biscuits and crisps between meals.

  • Cut down on beer and alcohol.

All these things will influence your health in a positive way.

Finally, don't be tempted to skip breakfast – or any meal to lose weight. While skipping a meal will reduce your calorie intake for that hour, it will leave you much hungrier later on.

Not only are you likely to overeat to compensate, but you'll often make bad choices to fill the gap: a cereal bar is not as healthy as a bowl of cereal or as filling, leading you to 'need' something extra for lunch.

Irregular eating habits also disrupt your body's metabolism, which makes it harder to lose weight in the first place.
