Dandruff is a common scalp condition that occurs when dead skin is shed, producing irritating white flakes. Majority of people suffer from common problem of dandruff at least once in a lifetime. It could be really frustrating for you every time you comb or brush your hair when lump or crust falling off your hair.
            Deficiencies of nutrients such as the B- complex vitamins, essential fatty acids, and selenium have been linked to dandruff as well. Dandruff is normally worse in the winter months. Dandruff not only makes you irritable at times but also considered as powerful foe of your hair because it makes your root weak which leads to frequent hair fall.
Despite using various brands of anti-dandruff shampoo, if still problem persists or reoccurs, then it is a high time that you should apply natural remedies to cure your dandruff problem. You would gradually find your dandruff bidding you goodbye leaving your scalp clean and dandruff free.

Home Made Remedies

Here are some effective homemade remedies to resolve your dandruff problem.

Olive oil & almond oil
Apply a mix of olive oil and almond oil in equal quantities on the scalp

 

 

 

Lemon with mustered oil
Take some mustered oil and squeeze few drops of lemon into it, mix them using a spoon. Massage this mixture on your hair scalp with light hands and keep it for 20-25 minutes before washing with mild shampoo

Lemon with Egg white
Beat an egg white in a bowl using a blender: now squeeze few drops of lemon juice into it, mix them using a fork or spoon. Apply this mixture on your hair scalp and ensure that you keep it atleast for 20-25 minutes before washing your it off with mild shampoo.

Vinegar with hot water
Vinegar is an effective in removing dandruff. Add 2 tablespoons of cosmetic vinegar and 6 tablespoons of hot water. Apply this mixture all over the scalp, cover the scalp with cloth and keep it overnight. Wash hair with plain water or add little of that mixture if required. This should be done twice a week for three months.

Plain yogurt with coconut oil
You can consider applying yogurt mixed with coconut water to cure your dandruff. Mix plain yogurt and few drops of coconut oil in a bowl and apply gently on your hair scalp. Later, washy you hair thoroughly with a shampoo.


 Fenugreek seeds with camphor
 Take some fenugreek seeds; soak these seeds in the water for four to five hours before grinding them to make a smooth paste: mix one teaspoon powdered camphor in it. Apply this paste on your scalp for an hour till it gets partially dried on your scalp. Later wash your hair thoroughly with a shampoo.

Thyme leaves
Take half cup of water add thyme leaves (a kind of mint leaf) to it and boil it. Apply it over the scalp and hair. Wash after some time. 

Dandruff treatment using Snake Gourd
The juice of snake gourd has been found beneficial in the prevention and treatment of dandruff. The juice should be rubbed over the scalp for this purpose.

Dandruff treatment using Green Gram Powder
A valuable prescription for removal of dandruff is the use of green gram powder. The hair should be washed twice a week with two tablespoons of this powder mixed with half a cup of curd.

Aloe vera (simplest dandruff remedies)
 Rub aloe vera gel into your scalp, leave it for ten minutes, and then shampoo your hair.    

Dandruff treatment using Apple juice
Add one tablespoon of apple juice to three tablespoons of warm water and massage into the scalp. This is also a good dandruff home remedy.

Rosemary leaves
Take some rosemary leaves and soak overnight in a liter of boiled water. Strain and add two teaspoons of vinegar. Shampoo your hair and then apply this preparation as a natural
dandruff remedy.

Margosa oil and castor oil
 Margosa oil / warm coconut oil/ castor oil massaged into the scalp once a week helps to cure a dry and itchy scalp. Massage the oil into the scalp using the tips of your fingers and a gentle circular motion. Shampoo your hair the following day. You can use margosa based shampoo, or soap nuts as shampoo, for better results.
